Your security is assured
"A poor life this, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare." W.H.Davies
The quality of life is not found in our money or possessions, but in the world about us.
Strength and Stability
However financially poor we may feel we are, we all have one thing that we share alike. In fact, if we bother to stop for a just one moment and observe our surroundings, we may realise that we are actually astoundingly rich.
For here we are - just one small species of life - living on one small globe of land and sea, amidst the wealth of nature incredible in its beauty, and immense in diversity of colour and light.
And that small globe is our planet Earth.
We all appreciate beauty and, those who hanker after riches, often dream of beautiful houses, beautiful cars, and surrounding themselves with beautiful people. Indeed, beautiful things are good for the soul, but sadly it is an illusion to think that winning the lottery can make us feel secure.
How many times have you stopped to consider how astounding it is that our total existence relies entirely on the stability and strength of a blue green orb suspended in space? A plant, a raindrop, the magnificent splendour of the creation of life - this is beauty and can be found in the most ordinary everyday things.
And yet it is so easy to forget.
We all have the power to bring real quality into our life. It costs us nothing, and all we have to do is focus our attention upon it, and start to really appreciate the wonderful gift we have been given.
The Earth, and all it offers us, is the physical dwelling place of our incarnate lives. It is the only thing that prevents us from floating aimlessly in endless space. It is the STABILITY that supports our houses, and the STRENGTH that sustains our food chain.
So sometimes, why not take a moment from the busyness of your day to think about this, and perhaps light a candle for the quality and reliability of our governments, and lasting protection for our planet?
Ancient indian warriors used to communicate with the spirit of an animal, both before and after the hunt. These creatures were thanked for giving up their own lives to provide nourishment for another, and every part of them was used to help towards the wellbeing of the tribe. All nature was treated with respect, for it was recognised that it was only with the permission of nature that anything survived.
Today 'grace' is said at some meal tables, but for many - amongst the hub bub of our packaged food and TV Soaps - we tend to take for granted the qualities of life that are given to us free.
It is so easy to forget.
So maybe you would like to take a coin and bury it in a special place in the ground, as a symbol of gratitude for this planet earth, whose strength and stability sustains our life?
If you take off your shoes, and walk on the grass, you will feel the energy of the earth through the soles of your feet. And perhaps at the same time you might spare a thought for the insects, animals, and plants, abundant around you, whose everyday's existance is part of your own.
Each day, if you spend just a moment observing the enormity and beauty of the 4 great elements, you will find that your own worries and fears seem much less significant by comparison.
As time goes on, you will be amazed to see how the quality of your life improves; how strong you will become within yourself - and how that inner stability and contentment can become impressed upon the lives of those around you.
Money is the energy of the material world, but not of the mind and emotions. The food of these planes come from a very different source. Money can buy houses, but not understanding; it can buy cars, but not love. It can give us everything on the surface, but nothing underneath.
If we bring nature "home" with us and into our everyday lives - just by recognising the simple values found in the beauty of a flower, a plant, the touch of an animal, or rain on our face - we will become far more energised; more able to deal with the reality of world issues, and hopefully re-awaken our inner strength and stability which enables us to remain inwardly secure in the midst of difficult times.
